CinchStack

Privacy notice

This notice explains what information CinchStack handles and why. In short: we collect very little.

Reading the site

Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running. We also read the aggregated search reports in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, which show how often our pages appear in search results and get clicked, without identifying anyone. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages are read and see which links to vendors are clicked, so we know which pages are useful. It is set up without advertising features: Google signals and ad personalization are off, and it is not linked to any advertising account. Google processes this data for us; Google's privacy policy explains how.

Whether it runs depends on where you are and what you choose:

  • If your device's time zone is in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, or we cannot tell, Google Analytics does not load and sets no cookies unless you choose Allow, on the notice at the bottom of the page or with the switch below.
  • Everywhere else it loads by default, and you can turn it off below at any time.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it never loads.
  • With JavaScript turned off, nothing is measured.

When it runs, it sets two first-party cookies, named _ga and _ga_ followed by our property code, which expire after 13 months at most. Google says Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses, and we keep event data for 14 months. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and is never sent to us.

Google Analytics needs JavaScript. With JavaScript off, as it is now, nothing is measured and no cookies are set.

Contacting us

If you use the contact form, we receive what you type: your message, the page you mention, and your email address if you give one. The form is processed by Netlify Forms. We use it only to read and reply to your message, and we delete messages when they are no longer needed.

When you click an amber affiliate link, you go to the vendor’s website, and the vendor or its affiliate network may set a cookie to record that you came from CinchStack. That is how a commission is credited. Those cookies are controlled by the vendor or network under their own privacy policies, not by us. Plain links carry no tracking codes from us.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, using the contact form. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the bottom of this page changes too.
