Wix pricing: what it really costs
As of 27 September 2026, Wix's cheapest paid plan, Light, is listed at $17 a month billed annually; Wix has never published a real month-to-month price for Light, Core, Business, or Business Elite on any public page, and reveals that rate only after you log in and pick a plan. Light also excludes online payments, customer accounts, and every ecommerce tool. A freelancer or local-service business running one simple site with no online sales can use Light as it stands; anyone taking payments should budget for Core at $29 a month instead, and an agency managing several client sites should look elsewhere, since Wix bills and caps collaborators separately for each site.

Wix plans and prices
Wix's published plans as of 27 September 2026: the month-to-month price, the effective monthly price when billed annually, and what each plan is priced by (US list prices in USD).
| Plan | Monthly | Billed annually | Priced | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FreeIndefinite free plan; excluded from Wix's 'Compare Plan Features' table, which only covers the four paid tiers below. | Free | Free | per site / month | No custom domain -- publishes to a Wix subdomain with Wix branding shown on the site; No online payments, customer accounts, or eCommerce (those first appear on Core and up); No stated storage or bandwidth number on the pricing page |
| Light$17/mo is Wix's displayed price, billed annually and paid in full upfront ($204/yr); no month-to-month figure is published for Light on wix.com or in Wix's Help Center (see unverified[]). The cheapest tier with a custom domain and branding removal, but it excludes online payments, customer accounts, and eCommerce entirely. | annual only | $17per month | per site / month | 2 site collaborators, owner included; 2 GB storage space; Light marketing suite: 4 lead-capture forms, 10 fields per form; No payment tools, customer accounts, recurring 'Pricing Plans', or eCommerce of any kind |
| Core$29/mo is Wix's displayed price, billed annually and paid in full upfront ($348/yr); no month-to-month figure is published (see unverified[]). The first tier, going up from Light, with online payments, customer accounts, and a basic eCommerce toolkit. | annual only | $29per month | per site / month | 5 site collaborators, owner included; 50 GB storage space; Basic marketing suite: 10 lead-capture forms, 50 fields per form; 4% Wix service fee on the 'Pricing Plans' recurring-billing/membership feature (ordinary one-time payments and eCommerce sales carry no separate Wix commission beyond card processing); No automated sales tax, loyalty tiers, loyalty-point expiration, or referral program (those start on Business) |
| Business$39/mo is Wix's displayed price, billed annually and paid in full upfront ($468/yr); no month-to-month figure is published (see unverified[]). Marked 'RECOMMENDED' on Wix's own pricing page. | annual only | $39per month | per site / month | 10 site collaborators, owner included; 100 GB storage space; Standard marketing suite: 25 lead-capture forms, 75 fields per form; 2% Wix service fee on the 'Pricing Plans' recurring-billing/membership feature |
| Business Elite$159/mo is Wix's displayed price, billed annually and paid in full upfront ($1,908/yr); no month-to-month figure is published (see unverified[]). Wix's top self-serve tier, positioned below the custom-quote Enterprise plan. | annual only | $159per month | per site / month | 100 site collaborators, owner included; Unlimited storage space; Advanced marketing suite: 75 lead-capture forms, 100 fields per form; 0% Wix service fee on the 'Pricing Plans' recurring-billing/membership feature |
| EnterpriseCustom-quote tier reached via 'Book a Demo', separate from the four self-serve Premium tiers above; no self-serve price is shown anywhere on the pricing page. | Custom | Custom | custom quote | No published self-serve limits -- scoped per account by Wix's Enterprise team |
What you will really pay
What a business actually pays for Wix each month at three sizes, with every line of the bill shown. Built from the prices above as of 27 September 2026; open “How we worked this out” under any total for the assumptions.
Solo: 1 site, 1 editor, ~20-page blog/CMS, ~10k visits/mo
$17 / month
high confidence- Light plan, billed annually and paid in full upfront (Wix's only published rate for this plan)$17
Plan: Light · billed annually.
How we worked this out
1 editor fits well within Light's 2-collaborator cap (owner included). A ~20-page blog/CMS site should fit comfortably in Light's 2 GB storage. Wix's comparison table publishes no bandwidth or visit-count limit for any plan, so ~10k visits/month isn't a factor in plan choice. This scenario doesn't call for online payments or eCommerce, so Light -- the cheapest tier with a custom domain and no Wix branding -- is the sensible pick over Core. Wix's only published rate for Light is the annual, paid-in-full price (see note). Wix doesn't publish a month-to-month figure for Light anywhere public (see unverified[]), so this scenario uses the sourced annual, paid-in-full price at $17/mo ($204 charged upfront for the year) rather than an unverified monthly number.
Small team: 1 site, 3 editors, ~200 CMS items, ~50k visits/mo
$29 / month
high confidence- Core plan, billed annually and paid in full upfront (Wix's only published rate for this plan)$29
Plan: Core · billed annually.
How we worked this out
3 editors exceed Light's 2-collaborator cap but fit within Core's 5-collaborator cap. Core is also the first tier with online payments, customer accounts, and a real eCommerce toolkit, which a small team is more likely to need than a solo site. ~200 CMS items should fit comfortably in Core's 50 GB storage; Wix doesn't publish a separate CMS-item cap. No bandwidth or visit limit is published for any tier. Same annual-price caveat as the solo scenario: Core's month-to-month price isn't published anywhere public (see unverified[]), so this uses the sourced annual, paid-in-full price at $29/mo ($348 charged upfront for the year).
Growing team: 1 site, 8 editors, ~1,000 CMS items, ~250k visits/mo
$39 / month
high confidence- Business plan, billed annually and paid in full upfront (Wix's only published rate for this plan)$39
Plan: Business · billed annually.
How we worked this out
8 editors exceed Core's 5-collaborator cap but fit within Business's 10-collaborator cap. Business also raises storage to 100 GB (for the ~1,000 CMS items) and adds automated sales tax, loyalty tiers, and a referral program that Core lacks. Business Elite's 100-collaborator cap and unlimited storage aren't needed at this size -- nothing in Wix's published limits forces it. No bandwidth or visit limit is published for any tier, so ~250k visits/month isn't a factor. Same annual-price caveat: Business's month-to-month price isn't published anywhere public (see unverified[]), so this uses the sourced annual, paid-in-full price at $39/mo ($468 charged upfront for the year). A growing team that also runs real volume through the Pricing Plans membership feature would additionally owe Business's 2% Pricing Plans service fee (see extraCosts), on top of the Wix Payments card rate.
Which Wix plan does a freelancer, local business or course creator actually need?
Start with what the site needs to do, not how big the business is. Wix’s free plan builds and hosts a full site with no credit card and no time limit, but it publishes only to a Wix subdomain, keeps Wix’s own branding on every page, and sits outside Wix’s detailed plan-comparison table entirely. The moment a real business wants its own domain, the free plan stops being an option, and the cheapest paid tier, Light, becomes the entry point at $17 a month billed annually. Light removes Wix branding, adds a custom domain with a free domain for the first year, and allows 2 site collaborators including the owner — enough for a freelancer or a local-service owner working alone. Light’s real limit isn’t storage or collaborators, though: it excludes online payments, customer accounts and every ecommerce tool outright. A course creator or store owner needs Core at $29 a month instead, which is also where the collaborator cap rises to 5. An 8-person team, or any business that wants automated sales tax and loyalty tiers with point expiration, needs Business at $39 a month — the plan Wix marks “Recommended” on its own pricing page. Business Elite, at $159 a month, only earns its price once a site genuinely needs 100 collaborators or unlimited storage; little else on that tier justifies the jump by itself.
Why won’t Wix show you a real monthly price?
This is the catch that matters most on this page. Every price on wix.com/plans is the annual, paid-in-full rate shown as a monthly-equivalent figure. Wix’s Help Center confirms the company also sells true month-to-month and multi-year Premium plans, but says plainly that “the final price can be seen on the purchase page, before payment is completed” — meaning nowhere public. You only see the monthly rate after logging in, choosing a plan, and selecting Monthly at checkout instead of Yearly. Some independent pricing guides publish an estimated month-to-month number anyway; we won’t repeat any of those figures here, because they disagree with each other, none of them links to a Wix-owned page, and Wix could change the real number at any time without telling anyone who copied down someone else’s guess. What we can say for certain: paying annually means one upfront charge rather than twelve smaller ones — $17 a month on Light works out to $204 charged upfront for the year, and $39 a month on Business is $468 upfront. Switching to monthly billing, whatever that rate turns out to be once you see it, forfeits the free first-year domain and the bundled premium apps that come with an annual plan. Wix also runs no free trial of any paid plan; its Help Center says directly that new Premium purchases instead carry a 14-day money-back guarantee if the plan turns out to be wrong.
What pushes a Wix bill above the plan price?
Card processing is the biggest variable for any site that takes payments. Wix Payments charges 2.9% plus 30 cents a transaction on domestic US cards, more for American Express, PayPal, and other alternative methods, plus an extra 1.5% on any cross-border card. Separately, Wix’s “Pricing Plans” feature — its name for subscriptions, memberships and other recurring billing — carries its own service fee on top of that: 4% of each charge on Core, 2% on Business, and 0% on Business Elite; Light doesn’t offer Pricing Plans at all, so the fee never applies there. That fee is specific to recurring billing: ordinary one-time product and service sales carry no separate Wix commission beyond the card-processing rate above. A chargeback costs $15 outright, and more when the disputed payment ran through PayPal. A domain bought outside the free first year that comes bundled with an annual plan has its own price on Wix’s Domains page, and that page shows only first-year rates, not what a renewal costs later. One more variable has nothing to do with features at all: Wix’s Help Center says Premium prices vary by country without saying by how much for any of them, so a business outside the US should expect a different number than everything quoted on this page.
What happens when an agency manages several Wix sites?
Badly, compared to a single-site business. Wix bills every site as its own subscription with its own login, and the collaborator cap attached to each plan — 2 on Light, 5 on Core, 10 on Business, 100 on Business Elite — applies per site, not per account. An agency running ten client sites isn’t paying for one plan with ten sites attached to it; it’s paying for ten separate subscriptions, each chosen and billed on its own, with no bundled multi-site discount published anywhere on wix.com/plans. That also rules out pooling collaborator seats across sites: a designer working on six client sites needs to be added as a collaborator on each one separately, and every site still counts that designer against its own cap. For a single-site freelancer or local-service business this pricing model causes no trouble; for an agency juggling many client properties, the bill and the login count both grow in lockstep with every new site it takes on.
Is Wix cheaper than Squarespace, Webflow, or Shopify?
Mostly, but not entirely — the comparison isn’t apples-to-apples, and it only holds against one of the three. Wix’s Light plan, $17 a month billed annually, undercuts Squarespace‘s Basic at $25 a month billed monthly, and even beats Squarespace’s own annual rate, $19 a month. Webflow is the exception: Wix’s $17 a month undercuts Webflow’s cheapest site plan with a custom domain, Basic, only against its $25 monthly rate — billed annually, Basic drops to $15 a month, cheaper than Wix. Squarespace and Webflow both publish that monthly number on their own pricing pages; Wix does not publish one anywhere for Light. Light is also the wrong comparison once payments matter, since it has none: Shopify‘s cheapest real plan, Basic at $39 a month billed monthly ($29 billed yearly), is built around selling from day one, while Wix’s own payments and ecommerce tools only start on Core. Pick Wix Light for a straightforward site or blog with no online sales and where an annual commitment is fine. Pick Shopify once the job is running a real product catalog. Pick Squarespace when knowing the exact monthly rate before you commit matters more than any edge on the annual price. Pick Webflow instead once the site needs a CMS, since its annual rate already beats Wix’s.
Add-ons, usage and other costs
1 usage-based charge: what Wix bills per unit on top of the subscription.
| Usage | Rate | Per | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wix Payments standard card rate (US, Credit/Debit excl. Amex) | $2.90 | % + $0.30 per transaction, domestic US cards | 3.7% + $0.30 for American Express (including via Apple Pay/Google Pay). Other US Wix Payments methods: PayPal 3.49% + $0.49; Pay Later 4.99% + $0.49; Venmo 3.49% + $0.49; in-person POS 2.6% + $0; Tap to Pay 2.6% + $0.20; manual card entry 3.5% + $0.30 (4.3% + $0.30 for Amex); Afterpay/Affirm/Klarna 6% + $0.30. Cross-border payments add 1.5% on top of the standard rate; multi-currency payments add a further 1% currency-conversion fee. |
Other costs that change the real bill: fees, processing and one-time charges.
| Cost | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 'Pricing Plans' (recurring billing/memberships) Wix service fee | 4% of each charge on Core; 2% on Business; 0% on Business Elite; the feature isn't offered on Light | Applies only to Wix's Pricing Plans app (subscriptions, memberships, recurring payments), on top of the Wix Payments processing rate. Ordinary one-time product and service sales through 'Accept payments'/the eCommerce toolkit carry no separate Wix commission. |
| Wix Payments chargeback fee | $15 per chargeback (Wix Payments, excluding PayPal); $20 for a PayPal-funded chargeback | United States rate. An ordinary refund carries no extra fee beyond not getting back the original processing fee. |
| Domain registration (first year, standalone) | From about $6.90 (.org) to $30.95 (.guru) for sample TLDs shown on Wix's Domains page -- e.g. .com $7.90, .net $11.90, .fit $10.00, .training $25.00 -- across roughly 400 TLDs; renewal-year pricing isn't shown | One year of domain registration is included free with an annual Premium plan purchase (Light and up). This is the standalone first-year price if bought outside that offer, or for an additional domain. |
Billing rules worth knowing
- wix.com/plans displays prices for yearly subscriptions paid in full upfront by default; taxes aren't included and are set by billing address.
- Wix also sells monthly and 2-/3-year (multi-year) Premium subscriptions per its Help Center, but only the yearly, paid-in-full price is shown on any public page -- the month-to-month and multi-year rates appear only after clicking Select on the logged-in Upgrade page.
- Monthly-billed plans leave out the free first-year domain and the bundled premium apps that yearly plans include.
- New Premium purchases carry a 14-day money-back guarantee; Wix states directly that it does not offer a separate free trial of a paid plan.
- The Free plan is excluded from Wix's detailed 'Compare Plan Features' table, which compares only the four paid tiers.
- Light explicitly excludes Payment tools, customer accounts, and 'Plans and recurring payments' outright, so the Pricing Plans fee tiers (4%/2%/0%) apply only to Core, Business, and Business Elite.
- Wix's plan-comparison table publishes storage limits (2 GB/50 GB/100 GB/unlimited) and collaborator caps (2/5/10/100) but no bandwidth or visits-per-month figure for any tier.
- One year of domain registration is bundled free with an annual Premium plan; bought separately, Wix's Domains page lists first-year promotional prices only, not renewal pricing.
How we checked this
Wix: Read Wix's pricing page (wix.com/plans) in a US-locale headless browser, both as first loaded and with 'Compare Plan Features' and 'Show More Features' expanded, plus Wix Help Center articles on Premium plan pricing, monthly billing, and Wix Payments service fees, and the Domains page for sample registration prices; snapshots saved. Last verified . Prices are US list prices in USD; Wix's own Help Center says Premium plan prices vary by geographic location and offers a region-specific preview button. This record captured only the US-locale (en-US, US timezone) headless-browser view of wix.com/plans, whose figures match the standalone USD prices independently reported by third-party US pricing guides; other countries' amounts were not compared.

Automated re-check on : all 1 prices we re-read were still on Wix's pages.
- The true month-to-month (no annual commitment) price for Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite: wix.com/plans states the displayed price is for a yearly subscription paid in full, and 'the final price can be seen on the purchase page, before payment is completed' -- no static or public page shows that figure, and the Help Center's 'Purchasing a Monthly Plan' article only describes clicking Select and then Monthly on the logged-in Upgrade page. Independent third-party pricing guides (not Wix's own pages) report month-to-month rates around $29 (Light), $39 (Core), $46 (Business), and $172 (Business Elite); these are noted here only as context for a future check and were not captured in any Wix-owned snapshot, so none of them are used in this record's structured fields.
- Wix's 2-year and 3-year (multi-year) subscription prices: confirmed to exist via the Help Center article 'Purchasing a 2 or 3 Year Plan,' but no dollar figures for any plan were captured.
- Business Email (Google Workspace) add-on pricing: wix.com/business-email describes the feature with no price shown anywhere on the page.
- Whether the Light plan can comfortably run a blog/CMS the size described in the 'solo' scenario (~20 pages): Wix's plan-comparison table publishes collaborator and storage limits but no page-count or blog-post cap for any tier.
- Any metered cost or credit limit behind 'AI creation tools': every plan card, including Free, lists it as an included feature with no credit count or paid add-on shown anywhere captured.
- Whether Light includes the 'Charge deposits for services' and 'Pricing Plans' feature-table rows: the captured comparison table hits a hidden accessibility marker at Light's column for both rows instead of the explicit 'Not included in Light plan' text every adjacent row prints, so Light's exact answer wasn't captured verbatim. Given Light's confirmed lack of Payment tools and Plans and recurring payments, it almost certainly lacks both, but that's an inference, not a direct citation.
- Non-US pricing: Wix's own Help Center says Premium prices vary by location and offers a region-specific preview; only the US-locale (en-US, US timezone) view was captured.
We re-check every price against the vendor's page each Monday; changes are logged on the changes page. See a price that's wrong? Tell us and we will correct it the same week.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Wix cost per month?
Wix's cheapest paid tier, Light, is listed at $17 a month, and Core, the first tier with online payments and ecommerce, is listed at $29 a month — but both of those are the annual, paid-in-full rate, not a true month-to-month price. Wix does not publish a real monthly rate for Light, Core, Business ($39 a month) or Business Elite ($159 a month) on any public page. Its own Help Center says the exact price for monthly billing appears only on the purchase page, after you have logged in and chosen a plan. The Free plan remains $0 with no time limit, but it publishes to a Wix subdomain and has no custom domain. If knowing the true monthly rate before you commit matters to you, that is worth checking on Wix's site directly before you sign up for anything, since no static page anywhere shows it.
Can I pay for Wix monthly instead of billing annually?
Yes — Wix's Help Center confirms it sells monthly Premium subscriptions alongside its annual ones, on every paid tier from Light up to Business Elite. The catch is that the monthly rate is never shown on wix.com/plans itself; you only see it after logging into your account, selecting a plan, and choosing Monthly instead of Yearly at checkout. Monthly billing also costs more in practice than the numbers on the pricing page suggest, because it skips two perks that annual billing includes: the free domain for the first year, and any bundled premium apps that come with a yearly plan. Wix also sells 2-year and 3-year Premium subscriptions the same way, quoted only at checkout. If avoiding a large upfront charge matters more than those perks, monthly billing is real and available; just expect to see its price for the first time during checkout, not before.
Does Wix have a free plan?
Yes. Wix's Free plan costs $0, has no stated time limit, and needs no credit card to start — you get reliable hosting, the drag-and-drop editor, and access to Wix's template library indefinitely. The catch is what it doesn't include: a free-plan site publishes only to a Wix subdomain, keeps Wix's own branding visible on every page, and has no online payments, customer accounts, or ecommerce tools of any kind. Wix's free plan is also left out of its own detailed plan-comparison table, which covers only the four paid tiers. It works well for previewing the editor or building a personal site with nothing at stake, but any business that wants its own domain name needs to upgrade to at least Light, Wix's cheapest paid tier at $17 a month billed annually, and businesses that want to accept payments need Core instead.
Does Wix offer a free trial of a paid plan?
No. Wix's Help Center states this directly: it does not offer a free trial for Premium plans. What it offers instead is a 14-day money-back guarantee on a new Premium purchase, so you can get a refund if the plan turns out to be wrong within that window. The indefinite Free plan, which costs $0 and needs no credit card, fills the try-before-you-buy role for the editor itself — you can build and preview a full site on it before ever paying anything, just without a custom domain, online payments, or ecommerce. That combination means the practical way to evaluate Wix without risk is building on the Free plan first, then upgrading only once you are ready to commit to a paid tier and its annual, paid-in-full price, since a paid plan itself carries no separate trial period of its own.
Does Wix charge a fee when I sell something?
It depends on what you're selling. Ordinary one-time product and service sales through Wix's 'Accept payments' and eCommerce tools carry no separate Wix commission beyond Wix Payments' own card-processing rate, which is 2.9% plus 30 cents a transaction for domestic US cards. Recurring billing is different: Wix's 'Pricing Plans' feature, used for subscriptions and memberships, charges its own service fee on top of that card rate — 4% of each charge on Core, 2% on Business, and 0% on Business Elite. Light doesn't offer Pricing Plans at all, so that fee never applies there. A chargeback costs $15 on top of losing the sale, and more when the disputed payment came through PayPal. None of these fees appear as a single line on Wix's main pricing page; they're documented separately in Wix's Help Center article on Wix Payments service fees.
What does Wix cost for an agency running several client sites?
More than a single bill, because Wix prices and caps every site on its own. There's no multi-site plan or shared collaborator pool anywhere on wix.com/plans: an agency running, say, ten client sites pays for ten separate subscriptions, each on its own plan and its own login, and each with its own collaborator cap — 2 on Light, 5 on Core, 10 on Business, or 100 on Business Elite. A single designer who works across several of those sites has to be added as a collaborator on each site individually, and still counts against that site's own cap every time. For a freelancer or local-service business running one site, none of this matters. For an agency, it means the total bill scales with every new client site added, with no volume discount published anywhere for owning more than one.
