Kajabi pricing: what it really costs

Quick answer

As of 26 September 2026, Kajabi's cheapest listed plan, Basic, costs $179 a month ($143 a month billed annually), and every Kajabi plan takes 0% of a seller's revenue. A solo course creator selling a few thousand dollars a month fits Basic's limits easily; a coaching business running a small team should plan on Growth at $249 a month once contacts or staff accounts outgrow Basic. The catch: a cheaper $71-a-month Kickstarter plan still exists, billed annually only, but it is missing from Kajabi's current public pricing page, and every plan's 14-day trial requires a card upfront.

  • Basic plan, billed monthly$179
  • 1 admin user (within Basic's 2-user cap, no per-seat charge)$0
  • Kajabi revenue share: 0% × $3,000 in sales$0

Plan: Basic · billed monthly.

How we worked this out

1 person with 1 staff account (the owner) selling $3,000/month. The sell-layer grid fixes only sales and staff count, not contacts; following this site's convention for other contact-tiered sell-layer tools, we borrow the run-layer solo figure of about 1,000 contacts. Basic's caps (2,500 contacts, 5 products, 2 total admin users including the owner) comfortably cover this. Billed monthly. Kajabi takes 0% of sales on every plan. Card processing is left out of the total: Basic's Kajabi Payments rate is 2.9% + $0.30 (2.9% × $3,000 = $87 plus 30¢ per order), paid to Kajabi Payments or, at a 2% surcharge, to a third-party processor — every seller pays some card-processing rate. Billed annually, Basic is $143/month ($1,716/year, "Save $432/year").

Small team

Small team, $30,000/month in sales, 3 staff accounts

$249 / month

high confidence
  • Growth plan, billed monthly$249
  • 3 admin users (within Growth's 11-user cap, no per-seat charge)$0
  • Kajabi revenue share: 0% × $30,000 in sales$0

Plan: Growth · billed monthly.

How we worked this out

5 people with 3 staff accounts selling $30,000/month, using the borrowed run-layer figure of about 5,000 contacts. Basic is ruled out twice over: its 2-total-admin-user cap (1 owner + 1 additional) is short of the 3 staff accounts needed, and its 2,500-contact cap is half the assumed list. Growth covers both (11 total admin users, 25,000 contacts) with room to spare. Billed monthly. Card processing is left out: Growth's Kajabi Payments rate is 2.8% + $0.30 (2.8% × $30,000 = $840 plus 30¢ per order), or a 1% surcharge on a third-party processor. Billed annually, Growth is $199/month ($2,388/year, "Save $600/year"). If the list stays at or under Basic's 2,500 contacts and only 1 extra admin user is needed, Basic at $179/month would work instead.

Growing team

Growing team, $150,000/month in sales, 8 staff accounts

$499 / month

medium confidence
  • Pro plan, billed monthly$499
  • 8 admin users (within Pro's 26-user cap, no per-seat charge)$0
  • Kajabi revenue share: 0% × $150,000 in sales$0

Plan: Pro · billed monthly.

How we worked this out

15 people with 8 staff accounts selling $150,000/month, using the borrowed run-layer figure of about 25,000 contacts. 8 staff accounts alone would still fit Growth's 11-total-admin-user cap, but the assumed contact count exactly equals Growth's 25,000-contact ceiling, leaving no headroom — and Kajabi locks an account out (after a 30-day grace period) once a plan's contact limit is reached. Pro's 100,000-contact cap gives real headroom for a business this size. Billed monthly. Card processing is left out: Pro's Kajabi Payments rate is 2.7% + $0.30 (2.7% × $150,000 = $4,050 plus 30¢ per order), or a 0.5% surcharge on a third-party processor. Billed annually, Pro is $399/month ($4,788/year, "Save $1,200/year"). If the actual contact count is well under 25,000, Growth at $249/month (plus contact add-ons at $25/month per extra 5,000, if needed) could still work.

Kajabi’s own pricing page shows three plans, but the full picture — a fourth, cheaper plan it doesn’t advertise, a layered payment processor, and a contact cap with a real deadline — takes more digging. Here is what decides which plan a course or coaching business needs, and what its own pages leave out.

Which Kajabi plan does a course creator or coach actually need?

Kajabi doesn’t price by seat; it prices mainly by contact count, product count and how many people can log in, so list size matters more than headcount. A solo creator selling around $3,000 a month, with roughly 1,000 contacts and only the owner logged in, fits comfortably on Basic at $179 a month — the plan behind the solo bill above — since Basic’s 2,500-contact and 5-product caps leave plenty of room at that size.

A small operation running 3 staff accounts on $30,000 a month in sales outgrows Basic twice over: its 2 total admin users (owner plus one more) is one short of what 3 staff accounts need, and its 2,500-contact ceiling is roughly half a 5,000-contact list. Growth, at $249 a month, covers both with room to spare — 11 total admin users, 25,000 contacts — and is the plan behind the small-team bill above. A growing team with 8 staff accounts and a list hitting Growth’s own 25,000-contact ceiling with no headroom left is better off moving straight to Pro at $499 a month, the plan behind the growing-team bill above, rather than waiting for the lockout. Products and AI credits scale with the same three tiers: Basic includes 5 products and 0 AI credits a month, Growth 50 products and 500 AI credits, Pro unlimited products and 1,000 AI credits.

Why isn’t Kajabi’s cheapest plan on its own pricing page?

Kajabi still sells a fourth plan, Kickstarter, at $71 a month billed annually — well under Basic’s floor — but browsing kajabi.com/pricing won’t turn it up. Both of Kajabi’s current public pricing pages list only Basic, Growth and Pro; Kickstarter is reachable only through a legacy checkout link that still works, while Kajabi’s help center keeps naming it as one of the platform’s current plans for admin-user limits. As of , Kickstarter’s contact, product, website and community caps were not published anywhere we could find, so there’s no way to confirm what that $71 actually buys beyond the 2 total admin users the help center lists — and a guessed month-to-month checkout link for it returned an error page rather than a price.

What pushes a Kajabi bill above the plan price?

Every plan’s contact, product, website, admin-user and funnel limit is a hard cap, and each one is a separate paid add-on past it. Extra contacts cost $25 per 5,000 a month, extra products $50 per 10 a month, an extra website $49 a month, and an extra admin user $5 a month. Even funnels, which the current plans market as unlimited, carry a paid increase listed at $10 per 10 extra a month. AI credits top up at $15 per 500, and unused monthly credits don’t roll over to the next billing cycle.

Two features are sold as bolt-ons below Pro rather than bundled in: a branded mobile app costs $199 a month on Basic or Growth (free on Pro), and a legacy Pro subscription without API access built in pays $25 a month for it (current Pro includes it free). Backstage, Kajabi’s 1:1 coaching product, bundles one client seat free into every plan, then charges $49 a month per additional client; Kajabi calls it a beta feature with pricing subject to change. A newer add-on, an AI chat agent called Expert Agent, costs $79 per agent a month at the standard rate in Kajabi’s help center, with no discount for buying several; the $49 introductory rate covered only agents bought by 30 September 2026. Kajabi’s own pricing and comparison pages still list Expert Agents as “Coming soon” on every plan, so it’s unclear a new signup can actually buy one today.

Contacts carry the sharpest deadline: Kajabi warns an account nearing its plan’s contact ceiling, then gives it a 30-day grace period after crossing it before locking the account until contacts are trimmed or the plan is upgraded.

How much does Kajabi’s own payment processing take?

Kajabi charges 0% of a seller’s revenue on every plan; the real cost sits in its built-in processor, Kajabi Payments. Its US card rate scales down by plan — 2.9% plus 30 cents per charge on Basic, 2.8% on Growth, 2.7% on Pro — and routing payments through a third-party processor like Stripe instead adds a surcharge on top of that processor’s own rate: 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth, 0.5% on Pro. None of this is folded into the bills above, since every seller on any platform pays some card-processing rate.

Three smaller fees ride on top of the base card rate: 1.5% more on a card issued outside the US, another 0.7% on any payment inside a subscription or payment plan (including the first one), and a flat $15 per disputed charge, non-refundable even when the dispute is resolved in the seller’s favor. Sellers who want same-day payouts instead of Kajabi’s regular free schedule pay 1.5% of the payout amount, with a 50-cent minimum — an optional charge, since scheduled payouts cost nothing.

Is billing Kajabi annually worth it, and what’s the catch with renewals?

Paying yearly lowers Kajabi’s effective monthly price on every plan: Basic drops to $143 a month, Growth to $199, and Pro to $399, each billed as one charge for the year. Kajabi doesn’t reward that commitment with a locked-in rate, though: an annual plan simply renews at whatever Kajabi’s published price happens to be when the year is up, same as a monthly plan would. Prices already rose once this way, for every plan, on the first billing date on or after 13 January 2026, and Kajabi calls the older, cheaper pricing “legacy” — migrating off it is permanent and can’t be undone.

Every plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee stated at checkout, and a documented nonprofit can request a 10% discount on the subscription itself. The 14-day free trial ahead of all this needs a card upfront: Kajabi places a $149 authorization hold to validate it, releases the hold once the card checks out, and starts billing only if the trial isn’t canceled first.

How does Kajabi’s price compare with systeme.io and ClickFunnels?

Kajabi’s $179 floor is expensive next to the other course-and-funnel platforms in its category. Systeme.io’s paid plans start at $17 a month, and its Free plan costs nothing until a seller’s lifetime sales cross a cap fixed in systeme.io’s own terms — a tier Kajabi has no equivalent for. ClickFunnels’s entry plan, Launch, costs $97 a month, closer to Kajabi’s own price and, like Kajabi, with no percentage-of-sales fee.

The gap isn’t only price. Kajabi bundles its Cofounder AI assistant and unlimited landing pages, funnels and marketing emails into Basic from day one, where systeme.io caps funnels by plan and ClickFunnels caps contacts and team seats instead. Systeme.io also sells physical-product variants alongside its digital courses (capped by plan, unlimited on its Unlimited tier), a market Kajabi’s published plans don’t mention at all. The full side-by-side is at systeme.io vs Kajabi.

Billing rules worth knowing

  • Prices rose across all plans effective the first billing date on or after January 13, 2026; Kajabi calls the pre-increase prices "legacy" pricing. Migrating off a legacy plan is permanent and cannot be reversed.
  • Every plan can switch between monthly and annual billing, or be upgraded/downgraded, at any time; Kajabi does not offer a price lock or renewal discount, so an annual plan renews at Kajabi's then-current published price.
  • A 30-day money-back guarantee is stated on the pricing page and repeated at checkout on every signup flow captured.
  • Kickstarter is not listed on Kajabi's current public pricing pages; it was reached only via a direct legacy checkout link, and Kajabi's help center still names it as one of the four current plan tiers.
  • A 10% nonprofit discount is available on request with documentation of nonprofit status; it applies to the Kajabi subscription only, not to coupons a seller creates for their own customers.
  • "Powered by Kajabi" footer branding can be removed on Growth and Pro; transactional emails and the Kajabi mobile app always show Kajabi branding, on every plan.
  • Subscription tax (sales tax/VAT/GST) is calculated on the billing address and shown as a separate invoice line; it does not change what a seller's own customers pay.
  • Downgrading to a lower plan is blocked while current usage (contacts, products, etc.) exceeds that plan's limits; usage must be reduced first.

How we checked this

Kajabi: Read Kajabi's pricing pages (kajabi.com/pricing and kajabi.com/pricing-new) in Annual and Monthly toggle states with the full feature-comparison table opened, followed the real signup/checkout flow for every plan (Kickstarter, Basic, Growth, Pro; annual and monthly where offered), and read Kajabi's help-center articles on account users, AI credits, subscription management, add-ons, trials, parked accounts and Kajabi Payments fees, all in a US-locale headless browser; snapshots saved. Last verified . Prices are US list prices in USD.

Automated re-check on : all 17 prices we re-read were still on Kajabi's pages.

What we could not verify:
  • Kickstarter's month-to-month price and its contacts/products/websites/communities limits are not published on any page captured; only its annual price ($71/mo, $852/yr) was found, on a legacy checkout link not linked from Kajabi's current public pricing pages. A guessed monthly-checkout URL returned a Cloudflare block page rather than a price.
  • Website Widgets add-on pricing is described only as "multiple paid tier levels" on Kajabi's help center; the actual dollar amounts appear to be shown in an image/table that the headless-browser text capture did not extract.
  • Expert Agents (AI chat agents) are still marked "Coming soon" on the live pricing and feature-comparison pages for every plan, yet a separate help-center article already publishes live per-agent pricing ($49-79/month); whether a new signup can actually buy an Expert Agent today could not be confirmed from a captured snapshot of the purchase flow itself.
  • Backstage's long-term pricing is explicitly unconfirmed by Kajabi itself: its help article calls Backstage a Beta feature and states "Future entitlements and pricing are subject to change."
  • Whether the $179/$249/$499 US list prices change for non-US billing addresses (beyond added tax) was not checked; only Kajabi Payments' processing fees are confirmed to vary by country (e.g. Australia's rates, captured separately).

We re-check every price against the vendor's page each Monday; changes are logged on the changes page. See a price that's wrong? Tell us and we will correct it the same week.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Kajabi cost per month?

Kajabi sells three plans on its current public pricing page: Basic at $179 a month, Growth at $249 a month and Pro at $499 a month, each also available billed annually at $143, $199 or $399 a month. Kajabi takes 0% of a seller's revenue on every plan; the only unavoidable extra cost is card processing through Kajabi Payments or a connected third-party processor. A fourth, cheaper plan called Kickstarter also exists, at $71 a month billed annually, but it is not listed on Kajabi's current public pricing pages. It is reachable only through a legacy checkout link, and its contact, product and website limits are not published anywhere Kajabi makes public. Basic, Growth and Pro differ mainly by contact count, product count and how many admin users can log in, not by feature set.

Does Kajabi take a percentage of my sales?

No. Kajabi charges 0% of a seller's revenue on Basic, Growth and Pro alike; the subscription price is the only fixed cost. Sellers instead pay for card processing, either through Kajabi's own processor, Kajabi Payments, or a connected third-party processor such as Stripe. Kajabi Payments' US rate scales down by plan: 2.9% plus 30 cents per charge on Basic, 2.8% plus 30 cents on Growth, and 2.7% plus 30 cents on Pro. Using a third-party processor instead adds a surcharge on top of that processor's own rate: 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro. A few smaller fees can also apply: a 1.5% surcharge on cards issued outside the US, a 0.7% recurring-billing fee on subscription payments, and a flat $15 fee on any disputed charge, which Kajabi does not refund even if the dispute is resolved in the seller's favor.

Is there a free trial, and does Kajabi require a credit card?

Yes to both. Every Kajabi plan, including the little-advertised Kickstarter tier, offers a 14-day free trial with no extensions. Kajabi requires a card to start the trial and places a $149 authorization hold to confirm the card is valid; that is a hold, not a charge, and it is released once the card checks out. Canceling before the 14 days end avoids any charge. If the trial runs out without canceling, billing starts automatically at whichever plan price was selected at signup. Most features work normally during the trial, but a few are locked until the account is on a paid subscription: bulk contact import, a custom email domain, site-wide email-template editing, and a handful of automation actions such as sending a certificate or granting an offer.

What's the cheapest way to use Kajabi?

On paper, it's Kickstarter at $71 a month, but only billed annually ($852 a year) — Kajabi has never published a month-to-month price for it, and a guessed monthly checkout link returned an error page instead of a price. Kickstarter also isn't listed on either of Kajabi's current public pricing pages, so most buyers will only ever see Basic, at $179 a month or $143 a month billed annually, as the real entry point. Basic covers 2,500 contacts, 5 products, 1 website and 2 total admin users including the owner, which suits a solo course creator or freelancer just starting out. There's no free-forever plan on any tier: every plan runs on a 14-day trial that needs a card upfront, and after that, billing starts automatically at the plan price chosen at signup.

Does Kajabi charge extra for contacts, team members or products?

Yes, past each plan's included limit. Extra contacts cost $25 per 5,000 a month, extra products $50 per 10 a month, an extra website $49 a month, and an extra admin user $5 a month. Even funnels, which the current plans market as unlimited, carry a paid increase listed at $10 per 10 extra a month. Basic includes 2,500 contacts, 5 products, 1 website and 2 total admin users; Growth raises those to 25,000 contacts, 50 products and 11 total admin users; Pro raises them again to 100,000 contacts, unlimited products, 3 websites and 26 total admin users. Contacts carry a real deadline: Kajabi gives an account a 30-day grace period after it crosses its plan's contact ceiling, then locks the account until contacts are reduced or the plan is upgraded.

Can I get a refund if I cancel Kajabi?

Kajabi states a 30-day money-back guarantee on its pricing page and repeats it at checkout on every plan, Basic through Pro. Outside that window, canceling stops future billing, but Kajabi's published terms do not describe a prorated refund for unused time in the current billing period. A cheaper option than canceling outright is Kajabi's Parked Plan, which pauses a subscription for $29 a month: the site goes offline to customers, and reactivating later requires subscribing to a current standard plan rather than picking the paused legacy rate back up. Anyone who upgrades or migrates off an older 'legacy' pricing plan should know that move is permanent — Kajabi does not allow migrating back to legacy pricing once you've left it, refund guarantee or not.

Is Kajabi cheaper than systeme.io or ClickFunnels?

No, not at the entry level. Kajabi's cheapest listed plan, Basic, costs $179 a month, against systeme.io's Startup plan at $17 a month (or systeme.io's Free plan, which costs nothing until a seller's lifetime sales cross a cap set in its own terms) and ClickFunnels' entry plan, Launch, at $97 a month. All three platforms take 0% of a seller's revenue, so the gap is pure subscription price, not a cut of sales. Kajabi's higher price buys unlimited funnels, landing pages and its Cofounder AI assistant from the first plan, where systeme.io caps funnels by plan and ClickFunnels caps contacts and team seats instead. Systeme.io also sells physical-product variants alongside its digital courses, capped by plan and unlimited on its top tier — a market Kajabi's published plans do not mention at all.
