As of 26 September 2026, Systeme.io's Startup plan costs $17 a month once a business outgrows the Free plan's 2,000 contacts, and most searches for an alternative trace back to one of three gaps: no built-in SMS, product variants capped even on the $97 Unlimited plan, and non-refundable subscriptions with no trial on any paid tier. A course creator or freelancer selling through funnels and email, with no large product catalog, is usually better off staying and learning those limits than switching. A store with real inventory, a business that wants texting on the same bill, or an agency running several clients should each pick the alternative matched to its own specific gap.
Every alternative below with its real monthly bill for a small team, next to Systeme.io's own ($47/month), as of the dates on each pricing page. Each bill is sized for the job that tool does, shown under the figure.
| Tool | Layer | Small team | Score |

There's no native SMS: texting only works once you connect and pay for your own Twilio account, since systeme.io publishes no messaging rate of its own.
Klaviyo
Prices SMS at $0.01 per outbound US segment inside the same platform as email, with carrier fees already included in that rate, so texting is billed and sent from one account instead of a second one you open and fund yourself.

Visit KlaviyoProduct variants are capped at 50, 100 or 250 depending on plan, and even the plans API behind the $97 Unlimited tier still stops at 5,000 despite the pricing page calling that limit unlimited, so a real physical-product catalog needs a dedicated commerce back office.
Shopify
Every plan allows unlimited products, and Shopify adds no transaction fee at all once a store uses Shopify Payments, removing the ceiling systeme.io's funnel-first catalog was never built to lift.

Visit ShopifyWho should stick with Systeme.io instead of switching?
Systeme.io fits best for a course creator or freelancer selling through a handful of funnels who wants checkout, email and course delivery under one login. The Free plan already includes a funnel builder, one course for up to 500 students, unlimited email sends, and a 0% cut of every sale, with no card required to start. $17 a month buys Startup once contacts pass 2,000, and every plan, Free included, allows unlimited staff accounts and unlimited sub-accounts at no extra charge. That combination, a funnel, an inbox and a course host that takes nothing from the sale itself, is hard to match at this price anywhere else on this page. A business selling one flagship course, a coaching program or a short list of digital offers, with no physical inventory and no need for native texting, usually gets more from staying and learning Systeme.io’s limits than from rebuilding the same funnels elsewhere for little real gain. If that sounds like your business, the more useful next step is the catches below, not a replacement.
What actually pushes people to look for a Systeme.io alternative?
Three limits account for most searches that land here, and none of them is really the price. Texting is not built in: turning on SMS means opening and separately funding your own Twilio account, since Systeme.io publishes no messaging rate of its own and says as much directly in its help centre. Physical-product variants are capped everywhere, climbing from 50 on Free to only 250 on Webinar, and even $97 Unlimited’s own plans API stops at 5,000 despite the pricing page calling that limit unlimited, so a real catalog outgrows the platform fast. And no plan carries a refund window: subscriptions are non-refundable under Systeme.io’s own terms, so a wrong tier costs you until the current billing period ends. A fourth, quieter limit shows up once a business is running real campaigns: Startup’s 10 tags, 10 automation rules and 10 sales funnels are tight the moment a list or its sequences grow past a beginner setup, and a business built around several client accounts finds that each sub-account only inherits its parent plan’s own caps, not a separate allowance. Match your own reason to the specific alternative further down, not to whichever name shows up first in a search.
What should you check before you cancel or downgrade?
Free costs nothing and needs no card, so walking away from it has no financial cleanup to do. A paying account has three things worth checking first. Subscriptions are non-refundable, so time any cancellation for the end of the billing period you already paid for rather than expecting a partial refund mid-cycle. Downgrading is not self-serve either: you contact support, who send back a custom order form built around the lower plan’s limits, and cancellation itself only takes effect just before the next renewal date, not the moment you ask. And if a Free account is close to real revenue, watch its ceiling: once lifetime sales cross USD 10,000, a 3-day window opens before payment pages stop accepting new sales, so line up the upgrade, or the switch, well before that deadline arrives rather than after customers are already turned away.
How do you move your contacts, funnels and courses off Systeme.io?
Contacts are the one piece Systeme.io actually helps you take with you. Its help centre confirms you select your list from the Contacts screen, choose Export, and a CSV file is generated and emailed to your account address, downloadable for only 3 days before the link expires. Funnels, pages and course content have no matching export tool documented anywhere in Systeme.io’s own help centre, so budget real time to rebuild pages, sequences and lessons by hand on whatever replaces it, not a file you import in minutes. The free, done-for-you migration Systeme.io advertises with its Unlimited plan or any annual billing cycle only moves work into the platform; it does nothing for a business moving the other way. Run the new tool alongside Systeme.io for a full billing cycle, sending real traffic to both, and cancel only once the replacement is actually taking payments and delivering course content on its own.
Which alternative actually fits the reason you’re leaving?
Match the swap to the specific gap, not to whichever tool is loudest in search results. Want SMS billed and sent from the same account instead of a separate Twilio bill? Klaviyo prices US text segments at $0.01 with carrier fees already included, inside the same platform as its email tool. Running, or about to run, a real physical-product catalog? Shopify, from $39 a month, drops the variant cap entirely and adds no transaction fee once a store uses Shopify Payments, and the free, self-hosted WooCommerce plugin drops both the cap and the fee regardless of processor. Outgrown Startup’s 10 tags, rules and funnels? ActiveCampaign’s entry tier, at $15 a month billed annually, bundles deeper automation and a light CRM with no equivalent fixed count to bump against. Want a dedicated course, coaching and community platform with uncapped funnels and a real refund window? Kajabi, from $179 a month, backs every plan with a 30-day money-back guarantee that Systeme.io’s non-refundable terms do not offer. Managing several client accounts that need their own CRM and phone system, not sub-accounts capped by whatever plan the parent happens to be on? GoHighLevel’s $97 Starter plan bundles both, though its own texting and calls then meter separately from a prepaid wallet. Weigh the closest match against Systeme.io vs Kajabi or GoHighLevel vs Systeme.io before committing to a new bill.

Automated re-check on : all 3 prices we re-read were still on Systeme.io's pages.
- The "For teams" plan has no published price. It is quoted only on a sales call.
- Monthly-plan checkout pages are not public (systeme.io/startup and /unlimited return 404, and /webinar is an inactive page). The monthly prices come from the pricing page and the plans API it loads. Monthly upgrades happen inside the app.
- The Perks rows in the comparison table (free migration, early access) and other check-mark features are drawn as icons and did not come through as text. Free-migration eligibility comes from the free-migration page instead.
- The pricing FAQ tells agencies wanting white label or resale to contact systeme.io for white-label pricing, while the help centre describes a self-serve white-label feature. We captured no separate white-label fee.
- SMS cost depends on the customer's own Twilio account and was not captured.
- Third-party reviews say Startup cost $27/month before a cut to $17 in May 2025. We did not capture a vendor source for the old price, so it is not recorded in history.

Automated re-check on : all 1 prices we re-read were still on Klaviyo's pages.
- MMS, WhatsApp (marketing and transactional) and RCS (Basic and Single) per-message rates: the pricing calculator displayed all four at a literal $0.00 + carrier fees per send at every tier we checked, which we don't believe is the real rate (Klaviyo's own help center says MMS costs more to send than SMS). We could not get the calculator to render a non-zero, channel-specific number, so these were left out of usage[] rather than record a figure we don't trust.
- Full profile-tier price tables for Customer Hub and Social Marketing beyond the single data points captured (their displayed tier breakpoints don't move in lockstep with the Email plan's own slider), and Reviews pricing above the 250-orders/month tier.
- Mobile Messaging's own subscription tiers and starting price: SMS is bought as a prepaid monthly Mobile Messaging plan, but Klaviyo's help articles give only example amounts ('$115 Mobile Messaging plan', a '$900/month plan'), and the calculator's Mobile messages card showed 'Monthly cost $40.00' without stating the message volume behind it, so no Mobile Messaging subscription price went into addOns.
- Marketing Analytics (help center: starting at $100/month for up to 13,500 active profiles), Advanced Klaviyo Data Platform (help center example: $4,765/month for 1,000,000 profiles), Helpdesk (starting at $10/month for up to 50 tickets) and Customer Agent (starting at $50/month for up to 75 conversations) all have published starting prices in Klaviyo's help center, but this record is scoped to the Email/Marketing side of Klaviyo and does not verify or include these Service/Data-platform products as add-ons.
- Whether a visitor with a genuine non-US geo-IP sees a different currency or price on klaviyo.com; see the regional note. Only US-locale/egress sessions were captured.
- Exact Professional and Enterprise support-package prices beyond the published 'starting at $500/month' and 'starting at $1,800/month' figures; both require 'Contact sales' for a final quote.
- Whether a payment card is required to create a free account: the captured sign-up page shows only the first form step (email and password). Klaviyo's help center says no card is needed to start the free Composer plan, but that article is about Composer, not account sign-up.
- Whether the introductory Customer Hub ($20) and Social Marketing ($38 at 10,000 profiles) prices continue after 09/30/2026; the calculator's list prices at those tiers are $30 and $50.

- Starter plan price: Shopify's current pricing page no longer lists Starter, shopify.com/starter now redirects to the free-trial offer, and the help centre says Starter isn't available to new stores. No captured Shopify page shows its price, so it is not listed.
- Retail plan price: the plan is closed to new stores and no captured Shopify page shows its price.
- The monthly fee for adding carrier-calculated shipping to a Grow plan billed monthly is not published; the help centre only says it costs an additional monthly fee.
- The Advanced tax platform is marked as an add-on on every plan, with no price on the pricing page.
- Shopify Plus: the variable platform fee for complex businesses is quote-only, non-US card rates require contacting sales, and Shopify's pages differ on how the Plus term is paid (the pricing page's comparison table puts 'Starts at $2,300 USD/mo' in its Pay monthly row and marks Pay yearly as not included, while shopify.com/about shows $2,300 'billed yearly' on a 3-year term). We list the 1-year term price in the annual column because every Plus option carries at least a 1-year commitment. The terms behind the pricing page's 'Try for $399' Plus button were not captured.
- The pricing page does not define which cards count as premium cards for the higher online rate.
- Domain registration and paid theme prices vary and were not captured.

Australian merchants pay 1.75% + $0.30 as listed. VAT or GST is added to WooPayments fees in many countries. Hosting prices are set by each host. We publish US list prices in USD.

Automated re-check on : all 15 prices we re-read were still on WooCommerce's pages.
- WooCommerce's cost calculator (woocommerce.com/tco-calculator) emails its estimate only after you submit a lead form with a business email, so we could not capture its figures.
- The pricing page's comparison table shows WooPayments card processing as "~2.50-2.90% + 30¢". The published US fee schedule lists only 2.90% + $0.30 for cards, so the 2.50% low end is unexplained. It may be custom pricing, which Woo says is available through its Customer Success team but does not publish.
- The terms and eligibility for the "Save 10% on processing fees for the first 3 months" WooPayments offer were not captured.
- Hosting is a third-party cost. We captured only Pressable and WordPress.com prices. Convesio and Bluehost Cloud (named in Woo's hosting guide) and Bluehost, Hostinger, Seravo, SiteGround and WordPress VIP (on Woo's hosting page) were not priced.
- WordPress.com's yearly renewal price for the Commerce plan changed between page loads on the same day ($50/month, then $57/month), so we don't record a yearly renewal price.
- The scenarios borrow visit counts from the site layer (10K, 50K, 250K visits/month). A store's real traffic decides which Pressable plan it needs.
- Domain registration is not included in the scenarios. Pressable's pricing page lists no domain, and WordPress.com includes a free domain for the first year only.
- The WooPayments page's related-products widget lists the WisePad 3 and M2 card readers at $84.99 and $79.99 with an "annually" label, which is unclear for hardware, so we don't record them as prices.
ActiveCampaign: Read ActiveCampaign's pricing page (Email tab, the default active tab) in a US-locale headless browser at its default 1,000-contact selection, then set the page's native contacts <select> element to 10,000 and to 50,000 (a real dropdown, not a slider, so clicking the visible tier numbers does not change the selection; Playwright's selectOption was used instead) to capture Starter/Plus/Pro/Enterprise pricing at all three required contact tiers; also expanded both collapsed pricing-page FAQ answers, and read the Help Center's plan-overview, SMS add-on and billing-cadence articles plus the onboarding-services page's cost FAQ. Snapshots saved for every page/state. Last verified . Prices are US list prices in USD; The pricing page offers a Currency selector (USD, BRL, CAD, AUD, EUR, GBP). We captured only the default USD selection, per this site’s US-list-price convention, and did not test whether the other currencies are simple FX conversions of the USD price or independently set regional prices.

Automated re-check on : all 4 prices we re-read were still on ActiveCampaign's pages.
- Month-to-month (non-annual) billing rate for any plan or contact tier: the public pricing page shows only the annual-billing monthly-equivalent price. The Help Center's billing-information article confirms 'Monthly' is one of three billing cadences available in-account (the others being Annual and 'Commit annually pay monthly'), but no Monthly-cadence rate is published on the marketing site, so it could not be captured.
- Price of an extra/additional user seat beyond each plan's included seats (Starter can add 1 extra seat; Plus, Pro and Enterprise can add more) — the Help Center confirms the ability to purchase seats but never states a price; it only appears inside the billing/upgrade flow after signing up.
- Enhanced CRM add-ons — Pipelines and Sales Engagement (available on Plus, Professional and Enterprise) — have no published price on activecampaign.com or its Help Center. Third-party review sites cite roughly $68/month and $111/month respectively, but those figures could not be confirmed on an ActiveCampaign-owned page, so they are not included.
- SMS add-on and SMS-credit pricing: the Help Center's 'Purchase the SMS add-on' article confirms Plus, Pro and Enterprise accounts can buy SMS credits, but the cost is shown only inside an in-app purchase modal after logging in; no per-credit or per-message rate is published on any page we could read.
- Custom Reports add-on price (sold separately on Plus and Professional; included free with Enterprise) and Transactional Email add-on price (available on all four plans, built on Postmark) — both are listed as purchasable in the Help Center's plan-overview article with no price shown anywhere public.
- Exact meaning and enforcement of each plan's 'Email sends: Nx contact limit' figure (Starter/Plus 10x, Pro 12x, Enterprise 15x) shown in the pricing page's comparison table — it is never explained whether this is a hard monthly send cap, a fair-use guideline, or a maximum list size. See the growing scenario's note for why this matters.
- Whether the other five display currencies the pricing page offers (BRL, CAD, AUD, EUR, GBP) are simple FX conversions of the USD price or independently set regional prices; only the default USD selection was captured.
- ActiveCampaign HQ (a separate franchise-specific product) is reported by third parties to carry a one-time fee around $4,500; this is a different product line from the four Email plans in this record and was not verified on an ActiveCampaign-owned page, so it is not included.

Automated re-check on : all 17 prices we re-read were still on Kajabi's pages.
- Kickstarter's month-to-month price and its contacts/products/websites/communities limits are not published on any page captured; only its annual price ($71/mo, $852/yr) was found, on a legacy checkout link not linked from Kajabi's current public pricing pages. A guessed monthly-checkout URL returned a Cloudflare block page rather than a price.
- Website Widgets add-on pricing is described only as "multiple paid tier levels" on Kajabi's help center; the actual dollar amounts appear to be shown in an image/table that the headless-browser text capture did not extract.
- Expert Agents (AI chat agents) are still marked "Coming soon" on the live pricing and feature-comparison pages for every plan, yet a separate help-center article already publishes live per-agent pricing ($49-79/month); whether a new signup can actually buy an Expert Agent today could not be confirmed from a captured snapshot of the purchase flow itself.
- Backstage's long-term pricing is explicitly unconfirmed by Kajabi itself: its help article calls Backstage a Beta feature and states "Future entitlements and pricing are subject to change."
- Whether the $179/$249/$499 US list prices change for non-US billing addresses (beyond added tax) was not checked; only Kajabi Payments' processing fees are confirmed to vary by country (e.g. Australia's rates, captured separately).

Automated re-check on : all 38 prices we re-read were still on GoHighLevel's pages.
- Whether the 14-day trial requires a card up front: the signup form asks for business details first and its 'Trial Details' step was not reached. The pricing page says billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless canceled.
- The 5% pass-through markup on A2P and carrier fees: the markup article (9 Sep 2026) says it applies whether or not rebilling is enabled and the Phone System guide (24 Sep 2026) says it 'always applies', but the same guide also says 'only when re-billing is enabled' and the A2P fee article says HighLevel adds no markup. The scenarios include it; without it they fall by $0.12 (solo), $0.30 (small) and $1.20 (growing).
- The Phone System guide lists A2P monthly fees with the 5% built in (Sole Proprietor 'up to $2.10', Low Volume '$1.50-$10.50', High Volume '$10.50'), while the A2P article lists $2.00 / $1.50 / $10.00. The scenarios use the A2P article's $1.50.
- Carrier fees depend on each recipient's carrier; the scenarios assume $0.0045 per outbound segment for every text.
- Pay-per-use Conversation AI and Voice AI cost per conversation depends on token counts and cannot be priced in advance; only the per-token and per-minute rates are recorded.
- The per-message price for US WhatsApp service messages beyond the free 1,000 a month from 1 October 2026 appears only in an attached CSV ($0.0034 before the 5% fee), not in the guide's table.
- HighLevel's pricing pages list no platform fee on payments taken through Stripe, PayPal, Square and other connected processors, but processor fees were not captured.
- Domain purchase prices vary by TLD and were not captured.
- Whether a dedicated email sending domain costs anything: the setup article lists no fee, but does not say it is free.
- The $27/month Pause Plan is mentioned in HighLevel's billing FAQ, which also says agency accounts cannot be paused.
- Enterprise pricing is quote-only.
- HighLevel's in-app Wallet Pricing page (the source it calls authoritative for usage rates) requires a login and was not captured.

Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest alternative to Systeme.io?
It depends on which part of Systeme.io's bundle you actually use, since Systeme.io itself starts free and its cheapest paid tier, Startup, already costs only $17 a month. A business that only needs email and light automation, with no funnel builder or course host, can run ActiveCampaign's entry plan for $15 a month billed annually, though that price covers only 1,000 contacts and a single user seat. A store with a real product catalog is usually cheaper on the free, self-hosted WooCommerce plugin, where the core software costs nothing and the bill becomes hosting instead of a subscription. Neither tool replaces the whole bundle: each swaps out only the one piece, email automation or ecommerce, that a specific business actually pays Systeme.io for today. Match the swap to the job you actually do, not to whichever number looks lowest on its own.
Is there a free alternative to Systeme.io?
Yes, though what counts as free depends on which piece of Systeme.io you rely on. Systeme.io's own Free plan already covers 2,000 contacts, three sales funnels and one course with a 0% transaction fee, so most searches for a free alternative are really asking about one specific limit on that plan. WooCommerce's core plugin is free with no contact or product cap at all, but it needs a self-hosted WordPress site, so hosting becomes the real bill even though the software itself costs nothing. Klaviyo's Free plan covers up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month at no cost, useful for pure email and SMS rather than funnels or a course. Neither WooCommerce nor Klaviyo replaces Systeme.io's course tool or funnel builder for nothing; each is free only for the narrower job it actually does, so a course-first business is usually served better by Systeme.io's own Free plan than by stitching several free tools together.
What happens to my contacts and funnels if I cancel Systeme.io?
Contacts are the one piece Systeme.io actually helps you take with you: its help centre confirms you select your list from the Contacts screen, choose Export, and a CSV file is generated and emailed to your account address, downloadable for only 3 days before the link expires. Funnels, pages and course content have no matching export tool documented anywhere in Systeme.io's own help centre, so plan on rebuilding pages, email sequences and lessons by hand on whatever replaces it, not on migrating them automatically. Subscriptions are non-refundable under Systeme.io's terms, and a downgrade is not self-serve: you contact support, who send back a custom order form built around the lower plan's limits, while cancellation itself takes effect just before the next renewal date rather than immediately. Export your contact list, document your funnel steps and sequences, and confirm the new tool is live before that renewal date arrives.
Which Systeme.io alternative is best for a physical-product store?
Neither Systeme.io nor most funnel-building tools are really built for that job, since product variants are capped at 50 on Systeme.io's Free plan and rise only to 5,000 even on the $97 Unlimited plan. Shopify is the more direct answer: every plan allows unlimited products, and Shopify adds no transaction fee at all once a store uses Shopify Payments, starting at $39 a month for a single-owner store with no staff logins. WooCommerce is the free alternative for a business that already runs WordPress and wants to own its checkout and code instead of renting a hosted platform, though hosting, paid extensions and card processing then become separate bills managed on their own. Neither Shopify nor WooCommerce includes Systeme.io's course tool or its evergreen webinar funnels, so a store that also teaches or coaches would still need to add one of those separately.
Does any Systeme.io alternative include built-in SMS?
Yes, but priced and built differently from how Systeme.io handles it. Systeme.io has no messaging feature of its own: turning on SMS means connecting your own Twilio account and paying Twilio's rates directly, and its help centre states plainly that SMS costs and delivery are managed through Twilio. Klaviyo sells SMS as part of the same platform as its email tool, charging $0.01 per outbound US segment with carrier fees already included in that rate, so there is one bill instead of two accounts to manage. GoHighLevel goes further and bundles a full phone system, texting and calling included, into its $97-a-month Starter plan, though every text, call and phone number then bills separately on top of that plan from a prepaid usage wallet. Pick Klaviyo for email-and-SMS marketing with no CRM attached, and GoHighLevel when a phone system and a CRM matter as much as the messages themselves.
Is Kajabi a good alternative to Systeme.io?
For a course creator who has outgrown Systeme.io's caps, yes. Kajabi's entry-level Basic plan costs $179 a month, more than ten times Systeme.io's $17 Startup price, but in exchange it drops the fixed caps on funnels, landing pages and marketing emails that Systeme.io enforces on every tier below Unlimited. Kajabi also backs every plan with a 30-day money-back guarantee, something Systeme.io does not offer on any paid tier, since its subscriptions are non-refundable under its own terms. What Kajabi does not match is Systeme.io's price for a business just starting out: there is no free Kajabi plan, only a 14-day trial that requires a card upfront, against Systeme.io's Free plan, which needs no card and costs nothing indefinitely. Choose Kajabi once uncapped automation and a refund window matter more than the lowest possible bill; stay on Systeme.io while that is not yet true.
What's the closest alternative to Systeme.io for an agency managing several clients?
Systeme.io technically supports this through unlimited sub-accounts on every plan, but each sub-account only inherits its parent plan's own tags, funnels and automation-rule limits rather than getting a separate allowance, so an agency really needs the $97-a-month Unlimited plan before sub-accounts stop feeling cramped. GoHighLevel is built around this job specifically: its $97 Starter plan already includes 3 sub-accounts with their own CRM and phone system, and moving to the $297 Unlimited plan removes that cap and allows rebilling phone and email usage to clients at cost. GoHighLevel's own catch is usage: texts, calls and most AI still meter separately from a prepaid wallet, so the real bill runs above the plan price the moment clients start texting or calling through it. Pick GoHighLevel when clients need calling and texting under one roof; stick with a fully loaded Systeme.io Unlimited account when clients only need funnels, email and a course.
