As of 26 September 2026, GoHighLevel's cheapest plan, Starter, costs $97 a month, or $970 if you pay yearly, and every plan includes unlimited users and contacts. That price does not cover texting, calling, sending email or most AI features: those are billed separately from a prepaid wallet, so a solo operator sending a couple hundred texts a month typically pays about $103.51, and a small team running normal volume pays closer to $125.42. GoHighLevel suits a marketing agency or local-service business that wants a CRM, funnel builder and automation together; a business that only needs email marketing should look at something cheaper.

How we worked this out
1 user, 1,000 contacts, 2,000 marketing emails/mo and 200 outbound SMS/mo for one business location using HighLevel's built-in LC Phone and LC Email, billed month to month. One local number ($1.15). Each SMS is 1 segment (160 plain-text characters or fewer): 200 x $0.00747 = $1.494. Carrier fee assumed at $0.0045/segment (T-Mobile/Verizon outbound rate): 200 x $0.0045 = $0.90. A2P 10DLC Low Volume Mixed campaign $1.50/mo (the $22.50 one-time registration is not included). Email 2,000 x $0.675/1,000 = $1.35. Inbound texts and inbound emails are also billed but not counted. No AI Employee, no calls, no premium workflow steps beyond the 100 free executions. HighLevel's 5% location-level markup on pass-through charges is applied to the carrier fees and the A2P monthly fee (HighLevel's docs conflict on whether it applies without rebilling; see unverified). Starter already covers this size: 3 sub-accounts, unlimited users and contacts. On annual billing the plan line drops to $80.83/mo. First month also carries the $22.50 A2P registration (plus 5% if the markup applies).

How we worked this out
3 users, 5,000 contacts, 20,000 emails/mo and 1,000 outbound SMS/mo for one business location, billed month to month. One local number ($1.15). SMS 1,000 x $0.00747 = $7.47. Carrier fee assumed at $0.0045/segment: 1,000 x $0.0045 = $4.50. A2P 10DLC Low Volume Mixed campaign $1.50/mo. Email 20,000 x $0.675/1,000 = $13.50. Same exclusions as solo. HighLevel's 5% location-level markup on pass-through charges is applied to the carrier fees and the A2P monthly fee (HighLevel's docs conflict on whether it applies without rebilling; see unverified). Still Starter. Users and contacts are unlimited on every plan and Starter's only hard cap is 3 sub-accounts; one business needs one. What Unlimited ($297) adds (unlimited sub-accounts, rebilling usage to clients, dedicated-IP eligibility) serves agencies, not a single business.

How we worked this out
8 users, 25,000 contacts, 100,000 emails/mo and 5,000 outbound SMS/mo for one business location, billed month to month. One local number ($1.15) and one A2P campaign. SMS 5,000 x $0.00747 = $37.35. Carrier fee assumed at $0.0045/segment: 5,000 x $0.0045 = $22.50. A2P 10DLC Low Volume Mixed campaign $1.50/mo (5,000 texts a month is well under its 2,000 segments/day T-Mobile limit). Email 100,000 x $0.675/1,000 = $67.50. Same exclusions as solo. HighLevel's 5% location-level markup on pass-through charges is applied to the carrier fees and the A2P monthly fee (HighLevel's docs conflict on whether it applies without rebilling; see unverified). Still Starter: 8 users and 25,000 contacts sit inside Starter's unlimited users and contacts. 100,000 emails/mo is about 23,000 a week, under the 50,000/week HighLevel advises for a dedicated IP (which would force Unlimited). One send to all 25,000 contacts reaches the 25,000/day shared-domain cap in the LC Email article, and the same article's FAQ mentions a 15,000 limit for sub-accounts without their own dedicated domain; adding a dedicated sending domain to the location raises the cap (the setup article lists no fee). Each extra local number for the team is $1.15/mo. At this size usage is about $131 of the $228.20 bill, more than the plan itself.
Which GoHighLevel plan does an agency actually need?
A single business running one brand needs $97 a month, full stop. Starter includes unlimited users and contacts and up to three sub-accounts, HighLevel’s term for a separate client or location workspace, which is enough for one business plus a couple of side brands. HighLevel’s own FAQ calls this plan “Agency Starter” and pitches it at “a single business owner or a new agency,” but Starter cannot rebill any of its usage charges to clients — that only turns on at Unlimited.
An agency running more than three client accounts, or one that wants to bill clients for their own texts, calls and email instead of absorbing the cost, needs $297 a month. Unlimited adds unlimited sub-accounts and lets you rebill usage to clients at cost, with HighLevel defaulting that markup to 1.05x, just enough to cover its own payment-processing fees. Only $497 a month, the top published plan, lets you mark up rebilled usage for profit or turn on SaaS mode to resell HighLevel under your own brand and price list. Enterprise pricing exists but only through a sales quote, so it is not something a small team can compare on sticker price alone.
What actually pushes a GoHighLevel bill above the plan price?
Every plan’s price stops at the software. Texting, calling, emailing and most AI features are billed separately from a prepaid wallet, and this is where the real bill grows. Texts cost $0.00747 per segment, sent or received, plus a carrier fee that runs about $0.0045 for T-Mobile or Verizon and differs for other networks; texting any U.S. number also needs A2P 10DLC registration, a one-time $22.50 fee plus a running monthly campaign fee as low as $1.50 for light senders. Calls add up faster: $0.0166 a minute outbound and about $0.0117 a minute inbound, plus a $0.0018-per-minute conference charge that HighLevel applies to every outgoing call, not only transfers, because it routes every call as a conference. Email through HighLevel’s own sending system costs $0.675 per 1,000 messages, and that counts every message you receive as well as send. AI is the widest range: an AI Employee costs a flat $50 or $97 per sub-account a month with fair-use limits, or, without that add-on, HighLevel charges by the token and the minute — Conversation AI on GPT-5 runs $1.25 per million input tokens, for instance. None of this is optional once a location is texting or calling, and all of it draws from the same wallet.
Is GoHighLevel’s annual billing worth it?
Paying yearly turns each plan’s monthly price into ten months’ worth instead of twelve. Starter drops to $80.83 a month, billed as $970 for the year; Unlimited drops to $247.50 a month ($2,970 for the year); Agency Pro drops to $414.17 a month ($4,970 for the year). The discount applies only to the subscription — texts, calls, email and AI still draw from the wallet at the same per-unit rates either way, so annual billing shrinks the fixed part of the bill, not the usage part that grows with the team. The catch: a month-to-month plan can be canceled from the dashboard at any time, but moving an existing annual plan back to monthly means contacting HighLevel directly rather than clicking a button. If you are still testing which plan and which sub-account setup fits, start monthly and switch once you are sure.
What does GoHighLevel’s pricing page leave out?
A few things are not obvious from the pricing page alone. Whether the 14-day trial asks for a card up front is not stated plainly; the pricing page only says billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Every fee is non-refundable under HighLevel’s Terms of Service, including the subscription itself and any resold usage. The wallet recharges itself automatically whenever the balance runs low, and HighLevel’s “Smart Adjustment” feature can raise that recharge amount on its own after it triggers a few times in a week, unless you turn the setting off; money left in the wallet more than 30 days after you cancel becomes HighLevel’s, not yours. HighLevel’s own help articles even disagree with each other on when a 5% markup applies to pass-through carrier and registration fees — one article says it always applies, another says only when client rebilling is switched on. Two add-ons also carry commitments the plan price does not hint at: HIPAA compliance, once turned on, cannot be turned back off, and online listings management carries a 3-month minimum term.
How does GoHighLevel’s price compare with HubSpot, ClickFunnels and Systeme.io?
HubSpot sits in the same category, CRM and marketing automation, but prices it differently: Marketing Hub Starter is sold per seat with a genuine free tier, and the jump to Professional adds a required onboarding fee and a 12-month commitment. A small team’s real HubSpot bill runs to $1,100 a month, well above GoHighLevel’s $125.42 — largely because HubSpot only sells its SMS feature alongside Professional. ClickFunnels looks deceptively similar at first glance: its entry Launch plan is $97 a month, the same headline figure as GoHighLevel Starter. But ClickFunnels’ only published extra cost is standard card-processing; it does not meter texts, calls or email the way GoHighLevel does, so two identical-looking $97 plans land very differently once you actually pick up the phone. Systeme.io ties GoHighLevel’s Starter on sticker price but beats it on the real bill: its Unlimited plan is also $97 a month, with unlimited email sends built in and no per-message fee, but it has no built-in phone system for texting or calling clients — a reasonable trade for a solo course creator, a poor one for an agency running client calls.
Who should not buy GoHighLevel?
GoHighLevel is built for agencies and local-service businesses that want a CRM, funnels, calendars and messaging under one login, not for buyers chasing the lowest bill for a single feature. Skip it if you want a simple CRM and have no plans to build your own funnels or automations: the $97 minimum plan pays for tools you will not touch. Skip it if you need a fixed, predictable monthly bill, since heavy texting, calling or AI use turns the wallet into the largest line on the invoice and there is no cap to opt into instead. And skip it if all a business actually needs is email marketing; that business would be paying the $97 floor for a CRM, funnel builder and phone system that sit unused.

| Cost | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| A2P 10DLC brand + first campaign registration | $22.50 one-time | Sole Proprietor or Low Volume Standard brand, includes the $3 Fast Track fee. High Volume Standard is $64.00. Charged when the campaign is submitted, whatever the review outcome. |

| 5% markup on phone pass-through charges | +5% on A2P fees, SMS/MMS carrier fees, Verified Caller ID and RCS carrier fees | The 5% markup article says it applies 'regardless of whether agency rebilling is enabled', and the Phone System guide's key points say it 'always applies'; the same guide also says 'only when re-billing is enabled' and shows a no-rebilling example without it, and the A2P fee article says HighLevel adds no markup. The scenarios include it (5% of carrier fees and the A2P monthly fee) as the higher, more conservative reading. |
| WhatsApp payment processing fee | 5% added to WhatsApp message rates | Stated in the WhatsApp pricing guide; the listed US rates appear to include it already. |
| Prepaid usage wallet with forced auto-recharge | Card charged whenever the wallet drops below its threshold | Usage (SMS, calls, email, AI, premium workflow steps) is prepaid from a wallet. Auto Recharge cannot be disabled; Smart Adjustment raises the recharge amount (e.g. $200 to $500) if it triggers more than three times in seven days unless you turn it off. The Terms cite a $10 threshold. |
| Advanced Account Setup (optional done-with-you setup) | $1,000 one-time | Optional; not required to use the platform. |
| Unclaimed wallet balance after cancellation | Forfeited after 30 days unless you request a refund | Per the Terms, wallet funds left more than 30 days after cancellation become HighLevel's property; free promotional credits expire after 90 days. |
| Sales tax / VAT | Added on top of all fees | Fees exclude taxes; tax on wallet spending is calculated after each month and taken from the wallet balance. |
Billing rules worth knowing
- Month-to-month with no long-term contract; cancel, upgrade or downgrade from the dashboard.
- Annual billing is $970, $2,970 or $4,970 a year: 10 times the monthly price.
- Upgrades are charged immediately with a prorated credit for the unused part of the old plan. Moving an existing yearly plan back to monthly requires contacting HighLevel.
- The Terms say all fees are non-refundable (subscriptions, communication surcharges, resold third-party services) and subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current rates.
- The plan price does not include messaging: SMS, calls, phone numbers, email, most AI, WhatsApp messages and premium workflow steps are billed separately from a prepaid wallet.
- Starter cannot rebill usage to sub-accounts. Unlimited rebills at cost (default 1.05x to cover Stripe fees). Only Agency Pro may mark up pass-through fees, and only Agency Pro can rebill AI Employee usage.
- You can connect your own SMTP provider instead of LC Email, and switch a location from LC Phone to your own Twilio account.
- LC Email sending ramps up over the first 7 days (250 on day 1 to 10,000 on day 7), then allows 25,000 a day on a shared domain or up to 550,000 a day with a dedicated sending domain.
- WhatsApp: from 1 October 2026, service messages beyond 1,000 per phone number per month and utility messages inside the 24-hour window become billable, and rates change in several markets.
- If a subscription payment fails, access continues for 21 days and is then locked. Canceled accounts' data is deleted after 90 days. Phone numbers are released within 14 days of cancellation.
- HIPAA compliance cannot be canceled once enabled, and Online Listings has a 3-month commitment.

Automated re-check on : all 38 prices we re-read were still on GoHighLevel's pages.
- Whether the 14-day trial requires a card up front: the signup form asks for business details first and its 'Trial Details' step was not reached. The pricing page says billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless canceled.
- The 5% pass-through markup on A2P and carrier fees: the markup article (9 Sep 2026) says it applies whether or not rebilling is enabled and the Phone System guide (24 Sep 2026) says it 'always applies', but the same guide also says 'only when re-billing is enabled' and the A2P fee article says HighLevel adds no markup. The scenarios include it; without it they fall by $0.12 (solo), $0.30 (small) and $1.20 (growing).
- The Phone System guide lists A2P monthly fees with the 5% built in (Sole Proprietor 'up to $2.10', Low Volume '$1.50-$10.50', High Volume '$10.50'), while the A2P article lists $2.00 / $1.50 / $10.00. The scenarios use the A2P article's $1.50.

Frequently asked questions
How much does GoHighLevel cost per month?
GoHighLevel has three published plans: Starter at $97 a month, Unlimited at $297 a month and Agency Pro at $497 a month, plus a custom-quote Enterprise tier for large operations. Every plan includes unlimited users and unlimited contacts, so what changes between tiers is the number of sub-accounts you get and whether you can rebill usage charges to clients, not seats or contact caps. The published price is only the subscription, though: texting, calling, most AI features and email sending are metered separately from a prepaid wallet and billed on top. Because of that, the number people actually pay varies with how much they text, call and email, which is why GoHighLevel's own pricing page shows no single "real" total, and why we calculate one from typical usage for a solo operator, a small team and a growing team above.
Does GoHighLevel charge extra for texting and calling?
Yes. GoHighLevel's plan price does not include texting or calling; both are billed by usage from a prepaid wallet. Texts cost $0.00747 per segment, whether you send them or receive them, plus a carrier fee of roughly $0.0045 that varies by the recipient's network. Texting any U.S. number also requires A2P 10DLC registration, a one-time $22.50 fee, plus a monthly campaign fee that starts at $1.50 for light senders. Calls cost $0.0166 a minute outbound and about $0.0117 a minute inbound, and GoHighLevel adds a $0.0018-per-minute conference charge to every outgoing call, not only transfers, because it routes calls as conferences. None of these charges are optional add-ons you can decline; if a location uses HighLevel's built-in phone or texting, the wallet is billed automatically and must stay funded through auto-recharge.
Does GoHighLevel offer a free trial or a free plan?
GoHighLevel has no free plan; every account starts on a paid plan after a 14-day free trial of whichever tier you pick, Starter, Unlimited or Agency Pro, with full access to that tier's features. GoHighLevel's pricing page states that billing begins automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first, and that usage-based fees for texting, calling or other third-party services can be charged even during the trial. Whether the signup form asks for a card before the trial starts is not stated plainly on the pricing page. Once the trial ends, the cheapest way to keep using GoHighLevel is the $97-a-month Starter plan; there is no ongoing free tier to fall back to the way some competitors offer.
How much does GoHighLevel's AI Employee cost?
GoHighLevel sells AI as a per-location add-on called AI Employee. The Growth tier costs $50 per sub-account a month and includes 1,000 Conversation AI responses and 100 Voice AI minutes, with unlimited Reviews AI and Content AI; go over those limits and the overage bills at GoHighLevel's normal pay-per-use rates. The Unlimited tier costs $97 per sub-account a month and covers Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI and Content AI without a stated cap, subject to fair use. Skip AI Employee entirely and GoHighLevel still charges for AI by usage: Conversation AI on GPT-5 costs $1.25 per million input tokens and $10.00 per million output tokens, and Voice AI's engine costs $0.045 a minute before text-to-speech and phone charges. Either way, GoHighLevel's Phone System call charges still apply on top of any AI voice minutes.
Is GoHighLevel cheaper if you pay yearly?
Paying yearly saves on the subscription only. GoHighLevel's annual billing charges ten months' price for twelve months of service: Starter falls to $970 for the year instead of paying $97 monthly, Unlimited falls to $2,970 for the year instead of $297 monthly, and Agency Pro falls to $4,970 for the year instead of $497 monthly. That discount applies to the plan alone. Texting, calling, email and AI usage are still billed from the same prepaid wallet at the same per-unit rates whether you pay monthly or yearly, so a business with heavy usage saves a smaller share of its total bill than the subscription discount alone suggests. The trade-off is flexibility: a month-to-month plan can be canceled from the dashboard at any time, but moving an existing annual plan back to monthly requires contacting GoHighLevel directly rather than doing it yourself.
Can you get a refund if you cancel GoHighLevel?
No. GoHighLevel's Terms of Service state that all fees are non-refundable, which covers the monthly or annual subscription, communication surcharges and any third-party services resold through the platform. Canceling stops future billing but does not return money already paid, and GoHighLevel deletes a canceled account's data after 90 days. If you want to stop paying but keep your data intact, GoHighLevel's billing FAQ mentions a $27-a-month Pause Plan as an alternative to canceling outright, though the same FAQ also says agency accounts are not eligible to pause. Money left in your usage wallet is not refunded either: under the Terms, any unclaimed wallet balance is forfeited to GoHighLevel 30 days after cancellation, and free promotional credits expire after 90 days regardless of whether you cancel.
What is the difference between GoHighLevel's Starter and Unlimited plans?
Starter and Unlimited both include unlimited users and unlimited contacts, so seats and contact counts are not the difference. Starter, at $97 a month, caps you at three sub-accounts, HighLevel's term for a separate client or location workspace, and cannot rebill any texting, calling, email or AI usage to clients; you absorb those costs yourself. Unlimited, at $297 a month, removes the sub-account cap and lets you rebill usage to clients, though only at cost, since HighLevel defaults the rebilling markup to 1.05x, just enough to cover its own payment-processing fees. Unlimited also unlocks eligibility for a dedicated sending IP, which Starter cannot buy at any price. Neither plan includes GoHighLevel's SaaS mode or the ability to mark up rebilled usage for profit; those require the $497-a-month Agency Pro plan instead.
