Quick answer

As of 26 September 2026, GoHighLevel charges $0.00747 per text segment sent or received in the US and Canada, plus a carrier fee of $0.0035 to $0.0050 on each outbound segment, and the plan price covers none of it. A local number costs $1.15 a month, outbound calls $0.0166 a minute plus a conference charge, and LC Email $0.675 per 1,000 emails. Texting US mobiles from a local number also requires A2P 10DLC registration: from $22.50 once, then a campaign fee from $1.50 a month. On the $97 Starter plan, a small team sending 1,000 texts and 20,000 emails a month pays $125.42 before tax, replies and the one-time registration.

What does GoHighLevel charge for each text message?

GoHighLevel’s built-in phone system, LC Phone, bills texts by the segment rather than by the message. HighLevel’s Phone System guide puts the US and Canada rate at $0.00747 per segment and applies the same rate to texts your customers send you. HighLevel’s A2P article says most US carriers count 160 characters of plain text as one segment; anything longer splits into two or more segments, and each one is billed.

The recipient’s carrier then adds its own fee to every outbound segment: $0.0035 for AT&T, $0.0045 for T-Mobile and Verizon, $0.0050 for US Cellular and $0.0040 for every other network. Incoming texts carry inbound carrier fees of $0.0025 to $0.0100 a segment. For a T-Mobile or Verizon customer, the carrier fee adds more than half again to the segment rate.

HighLevel may also add 5% to those carrier fees, and its own help articles disagree on whether and when. Its markup article, last updated 9 September 2026, says the 5% applies whether or not an agency rebills its clients. Its Phone System guide says in one place that the markup always applies and in another that it applies only when re-billing is enabled, and its A2P article says HighLevel adds no markup to them. Our real-bill examples and the grid below include it, and the amount at stake is small: in the small-team bill, the markup on carrier and A2P fees is a $0.30 line.

Stale lists cost money too. HighLevel charges for every text it attempts to deliver, whatever the outcome, and its guide says undelivered texts are not refunded, so texts to dead numbers are paid for on every send. Picture messages cost more: an outbound MMS is $0.022 per segment, about three times a plain text segment, and an incoming one is $0.0165 on a local number or $0.0200 on a toll-free number, before carrier fees.

What does A2P 10DLC registration cost on GoHighLevel?

Texting US mobile numbers from a GoHighLevel local number requires A2P 10DLC registration. HighLevel’s A2P article says every business on its phone system must register a brand and its campaigns with The Campaign Registry. The fees come in three parts:

  • One-time registration: $22.50 for a Sole Proprietor or Low Volume Standard brand, covering brand registration, vetting of the first campaign and a $3 Fast Track fee meant to get approval within 3 business days. A High Volume Standard brand costs $64.00 to register.
  • Each further campaign: $15.00 in vetting under the same brand. Resubmitting a rejected campaign costs nothing extra.
  • Monthly campaign fee: $1.50 for the Low Volume Mixed use case, $2.00 for a Sole Proprietor campaign and $10.00 for standard use cases, for as long as the campaign stays active.

The timing is the catch. Submitting a campaign starts both the registration fee and the monthly fee, whatever the review decides, and the monthly fee keeps running until you delete the campaign. If HighLevel’s 5% markup applies, it covers these fees too, and the Phone System guide prints some monthly fees 5% higher than the A2P article does. Our examples use the A2P article’s $1.50.

Daily limits matter when you pick a tier. The A2P article gives a Sole Proprietor brand one number and 3,000 segments a day, a Low Volume Standard brand 6,000 a day and a High Volume Standard brand 600,000 a day, and the Low Volume Mixed campaign caps traffic to T-Mobile customers at 2,000 segments a day. A whole list sent in one burst can reach those limits long before the monthly total looks large.

How much does GoHighLevel charge to send and validate email?

LC Email, GoHighLevel’s built-in email service, costs $0.675 per 1,000 emails on every plan. The meter counts more than campaigns: HighLevel’s LC Email article says all incoming and outgoing emails are charged, including To, CC and BCC, and forwarded emails cost the same as sent ones. A shared inbox that receives plenty of mail adds to the bill even in a month without a newsletter.

Email validation, which checks that an address can receive mail before you send to it, costs $2.50 per 1,000 checks, almost four times the price of sending to the same addresses. HighLevel’s validation help article says each address is checked before the first email goes to it, unless it has been checked already. With the optional 90-day re-verification setting on, an address last checked more than 90 days earlier is checked, and billed, again before its next email.

New sub-accounts also face sending caps while they build a reputation: 250 emails on day 1, rising to 10,000 on day 7, then up to 25,000 a day on a shared domain or up to 550,000 a day with a dedicated sending domain. The same article’s FAQ also mentions a 15,000 limit for a sub-account without its own dedicated domain, so a bigger list may need splitting across days. A dedicated IP costs $59 a month, is sold only on the Unlimited and Agency Pro plans, and suits only big senders: HighLevel’s guidance is to keep one busy with 50,000 or more emails each week. A business that already pays another email provider can connect its own SMTP service instead of LC Email and pay that provider for sending rather than HighLevel.

What does a month of GoHighLevel texting and email cost?

GoHighLevel's monthly usage charges on top of the plan price, by texts and emails sent, at the US rates recorded on 26 September 2026. Each cell counts one local number, one A2P campaign, every text as one outbound segment with the carrier fee, and HighLevel's 5% markup on carrier and A2P fees.

Texts a month2,000 emails20,000 emails50,000 emails100,000 emails
200$6.51$18.66$38.91$72.66
1,000$16.27$28.42$48.67$82.42
2,500$34.56$46.71$66.96$100.71
5,000$65.05$77.20$97.45$131.20
10,000$126.03$138.18$158.43$192.18

Find your monthly texts down the side and your emails across the top, then add the plan price: $97 a month on Starter. The cell for 1,000 texts and 20,000 emails is the usage in our small-team bill, which comes to $125.42 a month with Starter included. The 200-text, 2,000-email cell matches the solo bill, and the 5,000-text, 100,000-email cell matches the growing team’s.

Texts move the total far more than email does. One text segment costs more than ten emails before any carrier fee, so a business sending 10,000 texts and few emails pays more than one sending 100,000 emails and few texts. At about 5,000 texts and 50,000 emails, usage alone costs as much as the Starter plan, and above that it becomes the larger share of the bill. The fixed part of every cell, one local number and one campaign fee, stays small at any volume.

Treat each cell as a baseline, not a quote. It leaves out replies, which cost the same segment rate plus an inbound carrier fee; incoming email; texts longer than 160 characters; picture messages, calls and extra numbers; the one-time A2P registration; and tax. It prices every carrier fee at the T-Mobile and Verizon rate, near the top of the range, so a list made up mostly of AT&T customers pays slightly less on that line. It also assumes the $1.50 Low Volume Mixed campaign throughout, which fits steady daily sending better than one large blast.

How much do GoHighLevel phone numbers and calls cost?

A local US or Canadian number on GoHighLevel costs $1.15 a month, and a toll-free number costs $2.15 a month. Rates for numbers, texts and calls in other countries sit in separate rate sheets attached to HighLevel’s Phone System guide.

Calls are billed per minute, and any partial minute rounds up to a full one:

  • Outbound: $0.0166 a minute, made up of a $0.0126 carrier leg and $0.004 in client minutes. HighLevel runs every outgoing call as a conference call, so each also carries a conference charge of $0.0018 a minute per participant, transfer or not.
  • Inbound, answered in the browser, the mobile app or a desk phone: $0.01165 a minute.
  • Inbound, forwarded to another US number: $0.02 a minute, since both legs of the call are billed.
  • Inbound to a US toll-free number: $0.0198 a minute.

Extras run on the same minutes. Recording costs $0.0025 a minute, then $0.0005 per stored minute for every month the file is kept, older recordings included; the call recording option under Settings, Phone Numbers, Advanced Settings can delete recordings automatically. Transcription costs $0.024 a minute, more than the outbound call it transcribes. HighLevel’s pricing guide adds that an outbound call nobody answers, with no voicemail left, is generally not charged.

How does GoHighLevel’s prepaid wallet charge your card?

GoHighLevel takes texts, calls, numbers and email from a prepaid wallet, billed apart from the plan; HighLevel’s billing FAQ says wallet credit cannot pay the subscription. You set a recharge amount and a threshold balance, and whenever the balance drops below the threshold, HighLevel charges your card the recharge amount. Its wallet help article says Auto Recharge cannot be disabled, and its Terms of Service name a $10 threshold. The Phone System guide even answers a customer charged before making any calls: the wallet had recharged as soon as the balance fell under the threshold. On Starter, that one wallet covers the usage of every sub-account, because passing usage on to clients through rebilling starts on the Unlimited plan.

A second setting, Smart Adjustment (labeled Auto-update), lifts the recharge amount to the next level when the same amount triggers more than 3 times within 7 days; HighLevel’s example moves a $200 recharge to $500. You can switch Smart Adjustment off from the three-dot menu beside the recharge controls, and Auto Recharge carries on at the amount you chose.

Tax and location change the numbers as well. HighLevel’s fees exclude sales tax and VAT, and its Terms say tax on wallet spending is calculated after each calendar month and taken from the wallet balance, which can push the balance negative and set off another card charge. The phone and text rates on this page are US and Canada rates, as published when we checked on . HighLevel’s in-app Wallet Pricing page, a Labs feature you switch on in Settings, lists rates for 27 countries, and its help article puts a pricing calculator in a later phase of that work; until it arrives, the grid above does the arithmetic from the published rates.

What we could not verify:
  • Whether the 14-day trial requires a card up front: the signup form asks for business details first and its 'Trial Details' step was not reached. The pricing page says billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless canceled.
  • The 5% pass-through markup on A2P and carrier fees: the markup article (9 Sep 2026) says it applies whether or not rebilling is enabled and the Phone System guide (24 Sep 2026) says it 'always applies', but the same guide also says 'only when re-billing is enabled' and the A2P fee article says HighLevel adds no markup. The scenarios include it; without it they fall by $0.12 (solo), $0.30 (small) and $1.20 (growing).
  • The Phone System guide lists A2P monthly fees with the 5% built in (Sole Proprietor 'up to $2.10', Low Volume '$1.50-$10.50', High Volume '$10.50'), while the A2P article lists $2.00 / $1.50 / $10.00. The scenarios use the A2P article's $1.50.
  • Carrier fees depend on each recipient's carrier; the scenarios assume $0.0045 per outbound segment for every text.
  • Pay-per-use Conversation AI and Voice AI cost per conversation depends on token counts and cannot be priced in advance; only the per-token and per-minute rates are recorded.
  • The per-message price for US WhatsApp service messages beyond the free 1,000 a month (in force since 1 October 2026) appears only in an attached CSV ($0.0034 before the 5% fee), not in the guide's table.
  • HighLevel's pricing pages list no platform fee on payments taken through Stripe, PayPal, Square and other connected processors, but processor fees were not captured.
  • Domain purchase prices vary by TLD and were not captured.
  • Whether a dedicated email sending domain costs anything: the setup article lists no fee, but does not say it is free.
  • The $27/month Pause Plan is mentioned in HighLevel's billing FAQ, which also says agency accounts cannot be paused.
  • Enterprise pricing is quote-only.
  • HighLevel's in-app Wallet Pricing page (the source it calls authoritative for usage rates) requires a login and was not captured.
  • The dedicated email IP's unit: the pricing page and the dedicated IP article say $59 a month per IP, while HighLevel's Pricing Guide says "$59/mo per dedicated domain". The record follows the two that agree.
  • The Workflow Pro unit: HighLevel's Pricing Guide calls the $10 tier a price "for the agency" in one line but lists it per enabled sub-account in its table, and the Workflow Pro article counts allowances per sub-account. The record treats it as per sub-account.

We re-check every price against the vendor's page each Monday; changes are logged on the changes page. See a price that's wrong? Tell us and we will correct it the same week.

Frequently asked questions

Does GoHighLevel charge for incoming texts, calls and emails?

Yes. GoHighLevel bills incoming messages and calls from the same prepaid wallet as outgoing ones. An incoming text costs $0.00747 per segment in the US and Canada, exactly what a sent text costs, plus an inbound carrier fee of $0.0025 to $0.0100 per segment that depends on the network. An incoming picture message costs $0.0165 on a local number or $0.0200 on a toll-free number, plus carrier fees.

Answering a call in the browser, the mobile app or a desk phone costs $0.01165 a minute, and forwarding it to another US number costs $0.02 a minute because both legs are billed. LC Email counts received mail as well: HighLevel's LC Email article says incoming and outgoing emails, including To, CC and BCC, are all charged at $0.675 per 1,000. A business whose customers reply often should budget for traffic in both directions, not only for what it sends.

What happens to the fees if my GoHighLevel A2P campaign is rejected?

The money already charged stays charged. HighLevel's Phone System guide says submitting an A2P 10DLC campaign starts both the one-time registration fee, $22.50 for a Sole Proprietor or Low Volume Standard brand, and the monthly campaign fee, whatever the review outcome. The $3 Fast Track part of the registration is non-refundable, and HighLevel's Terms of Service say all fees are non-refundable.

A rejection does not bring a second vetting fee, though. Since 1 February 2026, resubmitting a rejected campaign carries no charge, replacing the earlier $15 resubmission fee. A new, separate campaign under the same brand still costs $15.00 in vetting. If you decide not to text after all, delete the campaign: the guide says that is how to stop future monthly charges, which start at $1.50 a month for a Low Volume Mixed campaign.

Can I turn off auto-recharge in my GoHighLevel wallet?

No. HighLevel's help article on wallet settings states that Auto Recharge cannot be disabled on the wallet that prepays GoHighLevel's texts, calls, numbers and email. What you control is the recharge amount and the threshold balance that triggers it, and HighLevel's Terms of Service name a $10 threshold.

You can turn off the separate Smart Adjustment setting, shown as Auto-update. Left on, it raises the recharge amount to the next level whenever the same amount triggers more than 3 times in 7 days, for example from $200 to $500. Switching it off leaves Auto Recharge running at the amount you picked. Two related rules matter before you load a large balance: wallet credit cannot pay the plan subscription, and under the Terms a balance still sitting in the wallet 30 days after cancellation passes to HighLevel unless you request a refund first.

Does GoHighLevel charge for text messages that are not delivered?

Yes, in most cases. HighLevel's Phone System guide says charges apply to every message where a delivery attempt has been made, regardless of the final delivery status, and that refunds are not provided for undelivered texts. That covers texts from toll-free numbers, texts from A2P-registered numbers and texts blocked by country restrictions. The only exception the guide names is an internal error before the message reaches the phone provider, which is not charged.

Each failed attempt to a US or Canadian number therefore costs the full $0.00747 per segment. The practical fix is list hygiene: remove numbers that keep failing before the next campaign. HighLevel also sells a Number Intelligence bundle whose validation check stops a text to an invalid number from being sent, but it is priced per check and switches on paid spam detection and caller-name lookup at the same time.

Are GoHighLevel's SMS and call rates the same outside the US?

Only in Canada. The rates in GoHighLevel's Phone System guide, such as $0.00747 per text segment, $1.15 a month for a local number and $0.0166 a minute for outbound calls, are US and Canada rates. HighLevel's guide applies those prices only to numbers in the two countries and to texts and calls that stay between them, so they do not carry over to other markets.

Rates for other countries are in rate sheets attached to the same guide, and the in-app Wallet Pricing page, a Labs feature, shows localized prices for 27 countries, with default pricing for any country it does not list yet. Forwarding a call to an international number uses higher international rates for the second leg, and calls to Alaska and the Yukon follow regional pricing. Check your own country's rates before you budget for texting or calling there.

Does GoHighLevel have a calculator for SMS and email costs?

Not yet. HighLevel's Wallet Pricing article lists a pricing calculator among future phases of its billing transparency work, so for now GoHighLevel offers a rate list rather than an estimator. That list is the in-app Wallet Pricing page, switched on under Settings and then Labs, which shows unit prices for every wallet-billed product in 27 countries.

To estimate a month yourself, multiply your text segments by $0.00747 plus the carrier fee, $0.0045 for T-Mobile and Verizon customers, and add $0.675 for every 1,000 emails. Then add $1.15 per local number, the A2P campaign fee of $1.50 a month for Low Volume Mixed, and 5% of the carrier and campaign fees if HighLevel's markup applies to your account. The grid on this page runs that sum for 200 to 10,000 texts and 2,000 to 100,000 emails, using the same rates as our real-bill examples.

Does GoHighLevel add sales tax to texting and email charges?

Yes, where tax applies. HighLevel's Terms of Service say every fee excludes sales tax, VAT, GST and similar charges, and that products bought with wallet funds are generally taxable in many jurisdictions. Instead of adding tax to each text or email, GoHighLevel calculates tax on wallet spending after the end of each calendar month and takes it from the wallet balance. If that leaves the balance negative, the Terms say HighLevel charges the card on file to cover it.

A business with a VAT or GST number should give it to HighLevel, because the Terms warn that VAT or GST may be assessed without one and may not be refunded if the number arrives later. None of the rates on this page, from $0.00747 per text segment to $0.675 per 1,000 emails, include tax.

How much does call recording cost in GoHighLevel?

Recording a call on GoHighLevel's phone system costs $0.0025 a minute on top of the call's own per-minute rate, and the file then costs $0.0005 per stored minute every month it is kept. HighLevel's Phone System guide says storage is billed daily per sub-account and applies to older recordings too, so an account that has recorded calls for years keeps paying for the archive. To stop that, the guide points to the call recording option under Settings, Phone Numbers, Advanced Settings, where recordings can be deleted automatically after a set period.

Transcription is priced separately at $0.024 a minute, more than the $0.0166 a minute an outbound call costs, so transcribing every call more than doubles its per-minute cost.
